Microsoft set to profit from Enterprise 2.0
Leading software vendors of Enterprise 2.0 could record significant gains in the near future, an industry report has suggested.
IT communications researchers the Radicati Group has predicted the Enterprise 2.0 market to increase to $842 million (£482 million) by 2012 after studying leading vendors such as Microsoft.
Market size, vendor installed base, four-year forecasts and revenue market share were factors the study took into account.
Businesses of all sizes are adopting Enterprise 2.0 solutions at an increasing rate, the report concluded.
The technology enables firms to improve their flow of ideas, streamline workflow and business processes and the report added: "Enterprise 2.0 solutions help build interactive communities within organisations, as well as with outside customers and partners."
Jevon MacDonald, writing at FastForward blog, this week argued that new and promising technologies could prove a safe harbour for firms under pressure to deliver growth during the current period of economic volatility.
