Expert praises cloud benefits
Hosted IT solutions offer a number of advantages to the way in which firms can carry out their data management, it has been suggested.
According to Ronald Bowman, executive vice president of Tishman Technologies, both virtualisation and cloud computing are trends which improve the management of applications and a company's assets.
In a new report analysing the potential for data centres of the future, Mr Bowman said: "Virtualisation for most applications is now extremely reliable and cloud computing remote processing is realistic for asynchronous, low-cost, strategically located assets."
He suggested that data centres could be driven by the total cost of ownership in the future and predicted that the disaster recovery management industry will soon by influenced by increasingly integrated US and global economies.
Mr Bowman is also the author of a new book entitled Business Continuity Planning for Data Centres and Systems.
Industry experts will discuss virtualisation and the benefits it can offer to firms at two US conferences this month in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
