Microsoft updates Windows Live servicesNew social-networking capabilities have been introduced by Microsoft as part of its Windows Live brand.Third-party websites such as Flickr, Twitter and Photobucket have been linked up with Windows Live to provide users with interactive links and communications resources. A number of Facebook-style features have also been introduced as part of Microsoft's efforts to make Windows Live a one-stop destination for socially-conscious users. Similar to Facebook's news feed, Windows Live users can keep track of their 'friends' activities and which Web applications they have been using. The activities of a user's contacts within other Microsoft applications, such as Windows Live portfolio, such as Windows Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, can also be shown through the online platform. According to HEXUS.net, the site offers a fresh new look as a web-based unified services resource. "It's a look that's finally carried over to almost all other Windows Live services - providing a sense of similarity that was previously absent," the news and hardware reviews website said. ![]() |
