Business 'protects its success' through disaster recoveryA global packaging and supply chain management provider has opted for disaster recovery technology to protect the quality of its service.US-based ALOM said because of its role within customers' supply chains, a 'disaster' would frustrate clients' abilities to ship products and generate revenue. The firm believes disaster recovery will appreciate the faith shown by its customers in the business' pledge to deliver an uncompromising on-time service. Hannah Kain, chief executive at ALOM, said: "We want to stand ready to recover in record time, should a disaster hit." Disaster recovery helps firms to return to their operations quickly in the event of a disaster, such as data loss or hardware failure. In a guide published by Computing, IT experts recently tipped virtualisation as an emerging trend in disaster recovery. A recent survey by the National Computing Centre found that just under 90 per cent of firms are at least planning the implementation of server virtualisation within their infrastructures. ![]() |
