Companies 'need to be quick' after disaster recoveryExperts have warned that companies should instigate plans to deal with potential disaster recovery as quickly and efficiently as possible.According to Alex Hindson, enterprise risk manager at Aon Global Risk consulting, businesses must use organisational skills in the instance of system downtime, reports the Times. "Companies can find themselves in uncharted territory. In cases like this, survival is more about skills, training, awareness and communication than about process," he tells the publication. Mr Hindson also expresses how preparation and openness may make the situation easier to deal with, adding that decision making is difficult "if people are not prepared to give you meaningful information on risks". Using IT technology, such as open communications, can instill resilience and independence in organisations, says the source. The news comes as ioSafe announces the Solo, a new seemingly indestructible external hard drive with "disaster protection" which is resistant to both fire and water. ![]() |
