Eco-friendly technology can also 'reduce costs'

Green technology is being used to provide businesses with cost-effective waste management.

Software and business solution company Avanquest has implemented Netviewer systems, which can remotely deal with incidents and help to improve service levels while reducing carbon footprints.

Companies utilising the capabilities are not limited to in-house management according to David Boothroyd, client services manager at Avanquest Solutions.

"Outside of incident management, Avanquest also makes use of Netviewer for clients using our outsourced services. Again, the reductions in overhead and carbon footprint are clear and measurable," he says.

Barnsley metropolitan borough council used Avanquest and Xerox to formulate an electronic processing solution to eliminate 50 fax machines from its offices and has reduced energy output significantly.

Avanquest was launched in 1984 and became the world's sixth leading consumer software publisher in 2007, later acquiring US group Nova Development to add to its presence in Europe and Asia.
