Security market 'to take hold' in 2009Specialists are predicting that security-as-a-service will be adopted by more companies in the following year.Constrained economic circumstances may be the reason for companies using outsourcing as a means of attending to their IT infrastructure, according to Pravin Mirchandani, chief executive officer of Syphan Technologies, writing for SecurityPark.net. Security vendors must keep pace with developments in areas such as voice over internet protocol in order to alter sped accordingly without suffering latency and network performance issues, says the source. He argues that managed security service providers are increasingly warming to the option of "scalable online security services" due to new technologies, such as parallel processing used to upgrade in situ, emerging. Reducing infrastructure costs with no risk to business operations will result in a strong 2009 for the market, he says. The report follows news of a recent survey by Evans Data which found that over half of developers expect to use SaaS this year. ![]() |
