Outsourcing continues to growCompanies should be using outsourcing to maximise output during the global recession, says an industry body.A number of reasons to use the service are highlighted in the EquaTerra Advisor and BPO/ITO Service Provider Pulse Survey in the fourth quarter of 2008, with organisations worldwide looking to free up cashflows in the current economic climate. Providers of outsourcing have experts in enterprise resource planning (ERP) that have both a skills and cost advantage, according to Stan Lepeak, managing director of global research at EquaTerra "Too often ERP systems have proved to be financial sink holes, but, with the help of experienced service providers, they can be tailored to cut operations costs and support new business strategies," he says. In other results from the survey, it has been found that providers able to expand into niche markets will find international opportunities in several fields, such as research and development and financial analytics. Recent comments from EquaTerra revealed that the worldwide recession will accelerate the adoption of global outsourcing and offshoring. ![]() |
