Companies lose revenue through "poor application performance"Poor application performance is consistently costing firms money, says an industry specialist.Businesses placing faith in unreliable technology are leaving themselves open to significant losses, according to Hadrian James, tech manager for Compuware. "The most precious commodity to most of us is actually our time," he says. He adds that the three things an end user considers are "is it there when I want to use it?", "is it doing what I want it to?" and "does it do it fast?". Mr James believes that keeping revenue high and costs low is achieved though IT in "99.9 per cent" of businesses. Applications which let companies down not only cost them money but also send potential recurring customers elsewhere, he says. In a poll published by Compuware last week, 64 per cent of respondents agreed that poor application performance results in significant financial losses, whereas over half of businesses admit to using inefficient on-site technicians to handle performance issues. ![]() |
