Specialist recommends business continuity for SaaSResiliency and business continuity are two essential elements in software-as-a-service (SaaS) implementation, according to an industry specialist.Writing for IT World, Martha Young states that application performance measures are also "critical" when using an SaaS provider. "Each of these measures is of substantial importance to firms; determining which is the most important is nearly impossible," she writes for the site. The author also alluded to findings uncovered in the Aberdeen Group report Virtual Vigilance: Managing Application Performance in Virtual Environments, stating that many of the aspects outlined are of use to enterprises using an SaaS provider. The report revealed that SaaS users are able to identify and solve problems with performance degradation at an average of 57 per cent more than previous in-house application support. Users also recognised a significant increase in labour costs "specific to application performance management", she writes. Last year the Aberdeen Group's Bojan Simic extolled the virtues of hosted technology, citing it as a boost to "operational efficiencies". ![]() |
