Award highlights benefits of green IT

A business management firm has been awarded a top environmental gong, which highlights the benefits of green IT use.

COA Solutions has been presented with the Green Organisation - A Green Hero Award, in recognition of best practice in establishing and encouraging the use of environmental measures, such as green IT.

Mark Thompson, managing director of the company, says it invested time in tracking, measuring and reducing carbon emissions.

"Software can play a vital role in helping organisations to address their environmental agenda. We're delighted that our efforts have been recognised by the Green Organisation," he comments.

The company is an independent body which aims to promote the positivity of environmental endeavour and reward those making a visible attempt to implement green measures.

Elaine Sharp, programme marketing manager for independent advice company Envirowise, says firms adopting environmental procedures, such as green IT, can help to save both money and the planet.
