New data centre provides disaster recoveryThe construction of a new data centre in Birmingham allows local clients instant access to their data in the event of disaster recovery occurring.ADA Technology Services has created a new office and data centre which uses a virtualised platform to provide the recovery option. Chief executive of the firm David Rabson says the move is a national strategy which offers local accessibility. He comments: "Our new purpose-built data centre further extends our hosted IT infrastructure and disaster recovery services. Our fresh approach to utility computing and disaster recovery is driving our continued expansion in a challenging market." The structure will also provide software-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service solutions, which the company claims can be purchased on a cashflow-friendly payment plan which reduces capital expenditure. IT expert Tim Dunger, operations manager of Plan B DR, recently said organisations could soon be using virtualisation as a means of reducing the cost of disaster recovery. ![]() |
