Firms 'realising value of SaaS'More and more businesses are realising the value of hosted IT services and Software as a Service (Saas), it is said.SaaS solutions are growing at a rate of 33 per cent per year, a trend that is set to continue, says Genesis Communications. The systems are high on the agenda as firms look to cut spending, the firm states. "Increasingly, we are seeing that many businesses are realising that it is easier and more cost effective to implement SaaS solutions as a opposed to on-premise servers," a spokesperson comments. SaaS applications such as web, CRM and email hosting allow companies to email, access documents and intranets and manages customer details securely whether in the office or on the move, as they are also compatible with mobile devices, the company continues. There are seven things firms should consider when looking use SaaS in their IT processes, advises software expert Dave Rosenberg in an article for Cnet.
