Pursuit of security 'on the rise'
Businesses are continuing to pursue security training in spite of the economic downturn, a specialist claims.
The Hacker Halted conference in Miami, Florida aims to educate people in the IT sector about the best ways of protecting the business against cybercriminals.
Leonard Chin, director of the event, says more companies are beginning to understand the importance of security.
"The need for qualified professionals to uphold the integrity of a company's network and increase customers' confidence continues to surge," he states.
Mr Chin adds that equipment-based security measures are no longer adequate for many organisations, as they fail to fully protect networks and infrastructure.
The event will provide professionals with protection knowledge and technical skills and feature appearances from instructors such as Tim Pierson and Edward Haletky, co-authors of an upcoming book on virtualisation security.
IT specialist Get Safe Online recently advised small businesses that effective security measures are "essential" for retaining company integrity and customer loyalty.
