Flexible outsourcing is cost-effectiveAn industry analyst claims firms should seek to adopt flexible outsourcing to cut costs.Using the managed model allows businesses to reap the benefits of the service without being tied down to a lengthy contract, according to Mike Devlin, a director at Morse. The company recently conducted a survey of IT professionals which revealed 72 per cent believe a skills shortage is holding the company back. Mr Devlin comments: "The research has shown that the difficulties many UK organisations have balancing their IT and business needs. Matching skills availability against cost is a significant challenge." He adds that flexible outsourcing offers a solution, as resources can be turned on or off when required. There is a strong case for companies implementing an annual budget concerned with the model, as firms can retain control of IT while benefitting form specialist skills, the expert concludes. Ben Krempel, business development director at Converso Contact Centres, recently claimed businesses are increasingly turning to outsourcing services to reduce fixed costs and minimise overheads. ![]() |
