Swedish firm to utilise data centreA Swedish platform developer is set to expand its data centre to accommodate the world's first virtual platform.MindArt is linking up with sector specialist Interxion to provide extra space for its multiplayer roleplaying game the Entropia Platform. According to Mats Kling, chief executive officer at the developer, the key requirement is to provide a high level of security and power supply. He comments: "As our global user base all connects to one virtual universe, we have extremely high performance demands for networking services with the lowest latency to the US and Asia." According to Mr Kling, features such as cooling, fire detection and operational support will ensure that the platform retains constant availability. Michel van dem Assen, managing director of Interxion, says a combination of the data centre's advanced alarm monitoring systems and cooling facility will enable access to a wide range of carrier networks which creates an ideal environment of online platforms. ![]() |
