New seminars 'to tackle energy efficiency'Two sector specialists have launched a series of global seminars designed to educate companies on how to enhance energy efficiency.Business continuity specialist Emerson Network Power is teaming with the Digital Realty Trust (DRT) to deliver worldwide conferences aimed at reducing the amount of power used by data centres. The DRT, a contributing member of sustainability body the Green Grid, says the free seminars will provide firms with the first step on the road to reducing power and money expenditure. "End users who have implemented the practical actions outlined in the seminar along their journey to reducing energy costs by more than 50 per cent," claims Jim Smith, chief technology officer at the company. He adds that the energy-saving processes still enable businesses to maintain availability while improving flexibility. The tour is set to conclude in San Francisco in July after visiting New York, Dallas, London and Paris. ![]() |
