Chloride installs new units at Node4 data centreUninterruptible power supply (UPS) expert Chloride has installed units at a new data centre being constructed by hosting specialist Node4.Chloride has implemented its 80-NET 200kVA UPS units within Node4's new Wakefield DC3 facility, in an attempt to minimise downtime and provide support for clients' hosted applications. "Data centres are vital to a successful business and many end user organisations are seeking cost reductions in the current climate," says Rob Tanzer, technical support manager at Chloride. The 80-NET system uses 20 per cent less input current than a standard UPS system and helps to minimise generator ratings while maximising power supply. Andrew Gilbert, managing director at Node4, says the new facility is designed to address a demand for data centre space and meet client requirements. Chloride recently advised companies to deploy systems which protect mission-critical equipment and processes, after a recent report by CapGemini revealed a 2.2 per cent fall in electricity output presents a threat to business continuity. ![]() |
