Cisco announces Tidal buyout plansData centre expert Cisco has revealed it intends to acquire application management and automation creator Tidal Software.The company claims a deal would increase its own strategy by enhancing product and service delivery offerings. According to Gary Moore, senior vice president of advanced services at the company, the network has become the logical platform to manage and maintain mission-critical applications. He explains: "With the acquisition of Tidal Software, Cisco will accelerate its ability to help customers optimise the performance of their business applications and automate operational best practices in real time." Cisco says a buyout of the software specialist would also lead to significantly reduced operational costs and provide systems enabling application performance automation across entire business operations, from the server to the desktop. The data centre specialist recently unveiled its new unified computing architecture, which combines compute, network, storage access and virtualisation resources in order to reduce infrastructure costs and complexity. ![]() |
