Bull enhances virtualised data centreIT specialist Bull is to strengthen its virtualised data centre operations by implementing EMC's high-end Symmetrix V-Max storage systems.The company, which optimises architecture in business IT systems, will adopt the Symmetrix systems to upscale its virtualised server-storage solutions into the mission-critical data centre environment. Bull will also run a series of briefings, demonstrations and workshops on the new technology across Europe. According to Benoit Hallez, director of Bull's StoreWay Business Unit, the company has worked closely with EMC product teams to make the new items immediately available. He comments: "This announcement will allow our customers to benefit from the flexibility and cost optimisation of innovative features such as automated provisioning and data tiering, combined with the rock-solid reliability and performance." The storage systems were recently beta tested at Microsoft's adCenter and are based on Virtual Matrix Architecture Technology, which interconnects multiple engines containing independent central processing units, memory and host-disk connectivity. ![]() |
