Firms urged to cover three disaster recovery areasCompanies must focus on restoring lost data, recovering communications and maintaining security in the event of a disaster, it has been claimed.Businesses must attempt to achieve these three goals in order to recover quickly from a crisis, according to Keith Ferrell in his blog for bMighty. He argued that disaster recovery efforts should be purposefully targeted at getting a company back up and running and that all future business should be put on hold until a firm is on an even keel again. As such, the efforts of staff need to be coordinated and this is where effective disaster recovery planning comes into its own. Meanwhile, Neil Fisher, vice-president of global security solutions at IT specialist Unisys, recently urged companies to be vigilant against hackers trying to gain access to their systems. He noted that a growing number of attempts are being made by unscrupulous individuals to gain access to the confidential files of firms across the globe as the economic downturn continues. ![]() |
