Encryption 'key for hosted exchange management'

Companies which use a hosted exchange to manage their data should look to invest in data encryption in order to add protection, it has been claimed.

A growing number of incidents have seen data centres targeted by thieves looking to steal confidential business information in recent months, according to Peter Morrissey in his blog for Network Computing.

Therefore, he noted that data encryption should play a key part in maintaining data security for firms which use a hosted exchange.

As a matter of course, any business which has embraced data encryption must ensure that encryption keys are secured in a safe location and access to these programs is limited to specific personnel within a company.
