Open source for Sharepoint
The uptake of open source systems has gained momentum in recent years and Microsoft Hosted Sharepoint has now become one such application that is available in this form.
CNET News has reported Microsoft has recently launched a number of open source add-ons for its Sharepoint suite, with customer relationship management (CRM) additions for the software proving to be particularly popular with firms.
However, the website noted that an open source position is not always the best for a business, as while it allows a large degree of freedom surrounding what software can be used for business function, there is a lack of permanence in system design.
Meanwhile, companies which are looking to make the most of the Microsoft Sharepoint suite have been advised of an upcoming webinar which is being hosted by Customer Connect.
Taking place on June 18th at 10:15 BST, the session will examine how businesses can make the most of the software to boost CRM.
