SMBs 'benefit from business continuity planning'Small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) benefit from having proper disaster recovery plans in place, it has been claimed.Robert Whitton, head of William's Bucks Business Recovery Team, told Dynamic Business that SMBs can benefit from embracing disaster recovery planning as soon as possible, as once they have done so there should be no situation which causes them to collapse. He stated that companies which invest in business continuity planning with hosted exchange providers are in a better position to react quickly in the event of a crisis. Furthermore, Mr Whitton said that a failure to do so could result in a loss of business revenue and in a worst-case scenario an inability to recover altogether. Meanwhile, Brent Cobb, chief customer officer at Cbeyond, recently commented that businesses should not only focus on the creation of an effective disaster recovery plan, but should also ensure that their staff are well trained and aware of their responsibilities in a crisis. ![]() |
