Disaster recovery 'boosted with encryption'Data encryption technology can help boost disaster recovery readiness for firms, it has been stated.According to Marshall Lager, senior editor of CRM magazine, sensitive data stored by firms should be encrypted to help prevent disaster recovery situations. He noted that embracing data encryption can help safeguard files which are sent to mobile devices and offsite networks, something which should be in the interest of all firms. "The security risks are similar to those you'd encounter with non-secure email, but with the added danger of directly exposing business systems, information and private customer data to unauthorised parties," Mr Laitner stated. Meanwhile, the online publication claimed that customer relationship management (CRM) is a top priority for businesses looking to avoid expensive disaster recovery efforts. It stated that by investing in CRM, businesses are able to prioritise the safekeeping of confidential records and to build strong links with suppliers and clients. ![]() |
