Businesses 'should prepare for disaster'Companies have been urged to prepare for disasters in their hosted exchange network by putting in place a well thought out recovery plan, it has been claimed.Businesses which have comprehensive disaster recovery plans in place will be able to weather a crisis, a view which Dan Blacharski aired in his blog for IT World. He argued that having a well prepared and practiced disaster recovery plan is much like setting up a fire alarm in a building; it is better to have one and it never to be used, than to not have it and rue the loss of critical data or belongings. Meanwhile, businesses were recently warned not to allow data backup equipment to get too hot when transporting data files. Keith Ferrell recently wrote in his blog for bMighty that exposure to excessive temperatures can corrupt data stored on drives and could lead to problems carrying out disaster recovery efforts in times of an emergency. ![]() |
