Network performance 'key to business success'Businesses have been advised that monitoring server and network performance is key to maintaining productivity and company success.Glyn Owen, portfolio manager at Damovo UK, said that ensuring all platforms are working correctly can help to boost the efficiency for data transfer and in turn enable employees to access and manage data more easily. Furthermore, should any of these systems fail due to a lack of maintenance, he noted this could be particularly damaging to a business. "If the company is completely reliant on its ICT environment, then clearly the impact could be enormous if the network doesn't perform properly," Mr Owen commented. According to a study by Forrester Research, the amount spend on IT infrastructure during 2009 is forecast to diminish by three per cent to $1.66 trillion (£1.16 trillion). It noted that the largest slowdown in spending is predicted to hit the computer equipment sector, falling by four per cent to $434 billion. ![]() |
