Sharepoint 'offers business development opportunities'

The uptake of Microsoft Hosted Sharepoint systems enable businesses to improve the way they manage their affairs, one sector commentator has noted.

Arno Nel, editor-in-chief of SharePointMagazine.net and principal consultant at Sword-ECM UK, said that the pervasive nature of the program enables businesses to micro-manage their data and to understand what applications should be invested in to further boost efficiencies.

Therefore, the training of staff in the use of the software can have a number of benefits to business management and can enable firms to boost productivity and enables them to pinpoint processes that are in need of amendment.

"Official Microsoft certifications for both administration and development can assist in skilling up existing administrators or developers," Mr Nel noted.

According to a recent Gartner report, Microsoft Hosted Sharepoint was found to boost enterprise content management efficiency, help overcome information capture difficulties and enable firms to explore new information management processes.
