Hosted email uptake 'growing for businesses'
The uptake of hosted email services is gathering pace for UK firms, it has been revealed.
Key factors in this shift have been the growth in manageability of the service, with many providers now in a better position to deliver bespoke deals to clients, research and consulting firm Burton Group noted.
Furthermore, hosted exchange providers can offer a scalable package capable of meeting the needs of the smallest to the largest businesses, the company argued.
"Customers should decide on cloud-based offerings based on their unique needs, risk tolerance levels of the enterprise and [should] take the right steps to ensure safe migrations with the least heartache," Homan Farahmand, Burton Group director of consulting, commented.
IT consultancy Gartner also recently revealed that many businesses are now switching to hosted exchange servers to manage outsourced email requirements.
A report by the company noted that businesses can benefit from reductions in IT maintenance costs through a move such as this, as well as seeing the advantages of increased data storage capacity.
