Hosted exchange technologies 'help firms remain stable'Businesses have been advised that investment in next-generation data handling solutions such as hosted exchange systems will put them in a better position to weather an emergency.Dan Blacharski commented in his blog for IT World that although businesses can never be fully disaster-proof, investment in top-line data exchange technology and hosted services can help a firm weather a crisis more easily. Furthermore, companies should look to ensure staff are well trained in their disaster recovery responsibilities and practice the process regularly in order to better facilitate business continuity efforts. Norman Alesi, principal in Laurus Technologies and Vieo Consulting Group, recently told Computer Technology Review that business continuity and disaster recovery are areas where firms need to focus during turbulent financial times. As such, he urged businesses to review core departmental processes on a regular basis to ascertain ways to improve efficiency and ensure companies are secure for the long term. ![]() |
