Microsoft 'working on Sharepoint refinement'Software developer Microsoft is working on making its Hosted Sharepoint product an enterprise-strength tool for management, it has been claimed. The company has embraced feedback following the release of the program and is now working to make the software more effective at managing information, according to Duncan Williams, sales and marketing director at the ECM consultancy, who was speaking at the AIIM Roadshow. He said: "Microsoft are doing a lot of work around the architecture. [Previously this has] raised criticism. They've taken that on board and done a lot of works around the resilience of the structure." Meanwhile, Arno Nel, editor-in-chief of SharePointMagazine.net and principal consultant at Sword-ECM UK, recently said that the pervasive nature of Sharepoint enables companies to manage specific areas of business easily. He added that it is this micro-management ability which makes the software an important part of modern business infrastructure and enables its uptake to boost a firm's data efficiency. ![]() |
