SaaS 'offers benefits to business'Businesses have been advised that Software as a Service (SaaS) offers a range of benefits.Bob Muglia, president of Microsoft's key server and tools division, said that companies can garner large financial benefits from leasing software in this way rather than paying up-from set up costs. He commented: "Customers can get an incredibly good experience at a cost lower than they could by running [the software] themselves." Furthermore, Mr Muglia noted that Microsoft Hosted Exchange services can help boost data management and cost saving benefits for firms even further and is now becoming a viable alternative to mainstream system design. Meanwhile, Channel Web recently argued that SaaS uptake has gone mainstream, with businesses looking to take advantage of the system's cost reductions in comparison to traditional IT services. The website noted that as this uptake increases, many firms will witness further increases in data accessibility and file management efficiency as the service evolves. ![]() |
