Businesses urged: 'check on backup systems'Businesses across the country have been urged to monitor their data backup solutions in order to better prepare for a crisis. Many companies are presently attempting to streamline their data backup solutions - whether they are in-house or outsourced - in preparation of the unexpected and to make recovery efforts easier, according to IT manager Jason Slater in an article for Computing.co.uk. He argued that companies should look to improve their internet connection speeds in order to make file transfer faster, while ensuring records are compressed as much as possible will also shave a large amount of time off of recovery efforts in the event of an emergency. Dave Pistacchio recently noted in an article for SaaS Ulitzer that effective disaster recovery planning remains a top priority for many UK firms, despite cuts in IT spending for many businesses. He noted that putting in place well thought out disaster recovery tactics can help save a company millions in lost revenue by avoiding costly downtime. ![]() |
