Cloud solutions 'help in hosted exchange take up'
Businesses are more inclined to take on hosted exchange and cloud-based software solutions as a result of the economic downturn, it has been argued. David Pratt, chief operations officer of ThinkGrid, said that more companies are looking to the financial benefits of cloud solutions, along with practical benefits including improved file availability and the ability to access and amend files without the need to carry around a laptop or PC. He commented: "It really opens up the collaboration side of things and enables you [to] access and share your data and information without having to be tied to applications or your PC." International software and hardware developer IBM recently published figures which showed that 50 per cent of all PC users would consider exchanging their laptop or PC for a hand-held mobile device which they could use instead of a computer to access the internet and carry out their work.
