Hosted exchange 'could help save costs'Companies could receive cost saving benefits by taking up hosted exchange services, it has been argued.By outsourcing these data management responsibilities to a third party, firms are able to reduce the amount they spend on IT networks setups and maintenance, according to Piers Linney, executive director at Outsourcery. Mr Linney noted that small to medium-sized businesses in particular could garner the most benefit from this form of IT setup, as they are less likely to have large-scale IT departments and server equipment already in place. He commented: "You can save money today, or you can make your business more effective and efficient and that means you're going to make more money." Research carried out by Microsoft recently showed that 55 per cent of IT professionals feel that the current economic difficulties being witnessed around the world have impacted on the way that IT departments are run and the role that they play in effective business continuity. ![]() |
