Email hosting more flexible than USB storage

Firms wanting to access information on a remote basis have been advised that hosted email services are a flexible way of storing documents, by one expert.

According to IT advice website Techradar.com, hosted email solutions have distinct advantages over modern hard drives which can store vast amount of data but are often not particularly portable.

"It's not always practical to carry around a storage device," says the website, "and with physical devices there comes the added risk of loss or theft."

"This is where online storage comes into its own," those considering managed hosting services are advised.

Online hosting facilities, including email, make it easy to access files and documents on a "virtual hard drive".

Carrie Hill, director of search strategies at US firm Blizzard Internet Marketing, has also advised firms to consider the benefits of online hosted solutions.

The IT expert writes for Search Engine Watch that a dedicated hosting system can streamline a firm's operating efficiency if they have multiple websites.
