Microsoft Hosted Exchange 'popular'

Microsoft has been ranked as the top Superbrand in a new survey, with Google coming in at third place.

The poll of consumers has placed Microsoft as number one, ahead of other technology brands such as Apple and Sony.

UK newspaper the Telegraph noted that around 500 million people have Microsoft Office on their computers.

Furthermore, 70 per cent of email is run by Microsoft Exchange's email system.

The news comes as John Zanni, general manager of the worldwide software plus services industry team for Microsoft's communications sector, announced that the majority of customers in the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market want to purchase Microsoft Office Communications Server and Microsoft Hosted Exchange services.

"SMBs are increasingly interested in communication and collaboration tools to improve productivity and reduce costs," he said.

Product strategy director at Microsoft outsourcery Mark Seemann agreed, adding that its brand "resonates very well with our SMB customers".
