SaaS 'delivers a variety of benefits for law firm'Software as a service (SaaS) allowed one legal company to improve its data recovery and make its operations more efficient, it has been said. One benefit that law firm Chaffetz Lindsey enjoyed from outsourcing its IT and adopting SaaS was convenience and peace of mind that the hosting services provider was overseeing its infrastructure, allowing the company to concentrate on its clients, founding partner Charles Scibetta noted. Writing for Legal Intelligencer - part of the Law.com network - he stated that up-front capital was low and hardware and on-site personnel needs have been minimised. Mr Scibetta stated: "With our SaaS solution, we use space on remote servers hosted at a secure site maintained by our service provider. We do very little computing on-site." Furthermore, the system is scalable and should the company workload expand, it can pay for increased IT capacity. One SaaS solution businesses may want to adopt is Microsoft collaboration SaaS. Indeed, writing on a ZDNet blog, Brian Sommer noted that the uptake of SaaS could rapidly increase in the months ahead because it is being embraced by major technology companies and vendors. ![]() |
