Poor web applications 'a waste of time'Inadequate web applications and internal IT is leading to stress in the workplace and reduced productivity, a new survey has revealed.Conducted for CA, the study found that over 80 per cent of respondents believe poorly performing web applications waste time and dent productivity. Web applications play an important part in the daily operations of businesses and it was previously asserted by Mark Seemann, product strategy and development director at Genesis Communications, that knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint is increasingly popular with firms and often results in increased productivity. Indeed, firms may want to move to a platform such as Microsoft Sharepoint after the research revealed that 31 per cent of individuals have to cope with badly performing applications. And inadequate internal IT affects their view of their employer for 69 per cent of people. "Poor web applications are a major contributor which in turn results in employee stress, decreased productivity, absenteeism and high staff turnover," stated Alexander Kjerulf, an expert in positive work environments. ![]() |
