Downtime 'detrimental to disaster recovery'Businesses which suffer from long periods of server downtime could be risking long-term business continuity due to lost revenues and poor employee productivity, it has been claimed.According to a blogger for ZDNet Technology, instances of server downtime can have severe and long-lasting impact on a business' profitability and ability to stay ahead of the game. "Essentially, any length of downtime can be harmful to your business, but extended downtime could spell out the end," the resource claimed. In addition, it noted that firms could benefit from employing professional disaster recovery services to recover any lost data during a crisis, allowing staff to carry on with their day-to-day responsibilities. Meanwhile, eWeek recently advised businesses to ensure employee safety during an emergency is a top priority, as failing to do so could land a business in more trouble than simply losing data. However, it also advised investing in automated data recovery and backup systems to ensure any information is saved during a crisis. ![]() |
