Virtualisation tips revealedCompanies have been advised on some useful tips that can make the uptake of virtualisation easier.ZDNet's In Technology blog reported that firms should be aware of their business needs before embracing virtualisation in order to get the most out of the technology. "Virtualisation provides a flexible platform for testing and development, with the easy deployment of extra virtual servers. It also enables you to respond faster to business change," the blog claimed. The website added that there are four main areas where virtualisation can be particularly useful: server, storage, application and network virtualisation. David Pratt, chief operations officer of ThinkGrid, recently said that many businesses are focusing on the financial implications and cost savings which can be brought about through a shift to both virtualisation and cloud-based computing. He noted that the practical benefits of virtualisation also mean that business stability can also be improved as firms will be aware of the long-term financial IT commitments. ![]() |
