Backup solutions 'cam improve disaster readiness'
Firms could improve their disaster recovery readiness by embracing online data storage, it has been argued.
Many businesses are reliant on their ability to recover information quickly in the event of a crisis and one of the fastest ways to achieve this is to install online backup solutions which allow a company to save and restore files from multiple locations, according to Device Magazine.
In addition, companies were advised to use data encryption technology to ensure that all transferred data is indecipherable without an encryption key, further boosting data security and making it harder for thieves to steal confidential data.
Meanwhile, IT manager Jason Slater recently wrote in an article for Computing.co.uk that many businesses are currently in the process of streamlining their data backup solutions by taking on third-party providers to monitor and maintain their data backup needs.
He noted that improvements in internet speeds over the last few years have made it increasingly simple for firms to transfer large quantities of data quickly.
