IT trends highlighted at conferenceA four-day IT conference held in Phoenix, Arizona has highlighted the top trends within the IT sector for 2009.SNW Fall 2009 pinpointed cloud computing, virtualisation and the uptake of green IT measures as the top trends of the year, with businesses obviously aiming to streamline their data management needs while cutting back on power consumption and emissions. John Gallant, chief content officer for IDG Enterprise, said: "We've heard from attendees and presenters that SNW Fall 2009, more than any past conference, addressed the data management implications that start with storage and move throughout the IT value chain." Over 140 presentations and speakers took part in the event which closed on October 15th, with IT representatives from across the globe making the trip to the conference. Matt Bennett, category manager for networking at Misco, recently noted that many UK firms are turning to wireless technology to help future-proof their networks and transfer for old fashioned hardwired systems. ![]() |
