Disaster recovery planning 'should be ever-present'
Companies should ensure their disaster recovery plans are constantly updated and duplicate copies of all critical data is maintained in an up-to-date format.
BSM Info reported disaster planning should be an integral part of any company's business continuity plans, as a failure to incorporate it could lead them to trouble into the event of a crisis.
The online publication noted: "If you've not closed the loop and implemented an effective disaster recovery plan, your data is still at risk of being temporarily or permanently unavailable."
Elsewhere, companies which have invested in cloud data management solutions were recently advised to ensure they can recover lost information instantly.
Ian Masters wrote in an article for Continuity Central that one way to achieve this is to make sure all applications are present in the cloud. In this way, companies do not only retain access to files but also the programs to manage this data when outside the office environment.
