No data 'is always secure'Companies have been warned that no matter what level of IT security they have in place, it will invariably not be enough to stop the best hackers.David Aminzade, director of sales for Northern Europe for Tufin, said historically, the security approach for businesses has been on the perimeter through firewall technology. However, he argued that most corporate firewalls are like "spaghetti junction". Mr Aminzade commented: "We take out rules that are never used, rules that are overshadowed by other rules and enable [companies] to have a much faster firewall broadband and a lot more simplicity." According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one computer program can be used to eavesdrop on the actions of another. It noted that when two programs are running at the same time, they sometimes end up sharing the same cache. Therefore, by measuring the amount of time applications stored data in the cache, it would be possible to determine how frequently a security and/or cryptographic system was using those same locations. ![]() |
