A number of prerequisite steps to ensure the smooth switchover between Sharepoint 2007 and 2010 have been published online.

According to Windows IT Pro, many companies are already in the process of upgrading their IT infrastructure in this manner. However, it is important to remember a number of simple processes that can make the changeover more straightforward to achieve.

In order to make the upgrade as easy as possible, internal architecture should be prepared to switch to 64-bit systems, with 2010 only able to operate on 64-bit machines.

Furthermore, all clients should also upgrade their systems to ensure there are no conflicts with internal IT infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the news provider recently reported that trust issues which had been difficult to manage in Sharepoint 2007 have been resolved in the new version of the software.

It claimed that companies can now set up sandboxed solutions to enable applications to run in areas outside of the business network.
