Women 'have superior IT skills'Women have been found to be more adept at solving IT problems than men, according to new findings.Research carried out by gadgethelpline.com has shown in general, women are more astute at dealing with technology than men, due to their superior patience and listening skills. Maggie Berry, director of womenintechnology.co.uk, said the results highlight how disaster recovery services for firms in the UK could be boosted if more women entered the field of IT. She commented: "The bit that did stick out for me was that women would try to sort the problem out themselves first. I thought that spoke volumes really." According to the study, women spend on average 32 per cent longer on the phone than men, but men are nearly twice as likely to call back (47 per cent) having not properly resolved a problem during their call. In addition, 12 per cent of male - compared to just seven per cent of female - customers simply needed to plug in or turn on their appliance in order to solve a problem. ![]() |
