White paper discusses business continuitySoftware developer IBM has published a white paper to help companies improve business continuity planning. The document outlines a number of steps which firms should follow to be prepared for a crisis. It states that companies should determine which risks may affect their organisation and then calculate the potential impact which these events could have. Furthermore, firms should plan how each of their divisions should react in line with these risks and once complete, these plans should be tested to ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities during a crisis. The report noted: "Once you understand these objects, their attributes and the relationships among them, you can begin to identify areas for improvement." Elsewhere, BSM Info recently reported disaster recovery planning should play an integral part in any business' ongoing business continuity efforts. The news provider warned that failing to adequately plan for an emergency could see a firm unable to respond quickly in the event of a crisis. ![]() |
