Knowledge 'key to IT experience'Companies should ensure training for staff in terms of using IT infrastructure is top notch or they could face problems in the future.A spokesperson for BCS - formerly the British Computer Society - said people must be able - and know how - to access the information they want at all times or problems could arise in terms of data management. She commented: "Even if people are able to access the internet for example, if they do not know how to keep their personal data safe and are unaware of the resources available to them, then they may still fail to get the most from the experience." According to research by BCS and the Chartered Institute for IT, the majority of the population is not benefiting from the full social, cultural and commercial benefits of the modern, information-driven society. It noted 23 per cent of Brits believe that information technology has failed to improve their lives. ![]() |
