Security trends for next ten yearsThe data security issues which are most likely to plague businesses over the next decade have been forecast in a new report by Imperva.Over the next ten years, companies are likely to see an evolution in how criminals attempt to infiltrate their systems, with the industrialisation of hacking a likely outcome. Furthermore, there is likely to be an increase in the number of attacks against firms through social networking sites. Imperva's chief technology officer Amichai Shulman commented: "As social platforms grow at an exponential rate, I find this problem to be one of the most challenging for us in the next decade." Elsewhere, Bridget Treacy, a partner at Hunton & Williams, recently said issues surrounding cloud computing could take years to resolve. She noted problems regarding jurisdiction in terms of companies storing files with third party providers outside the UK will be a tricky area for law professionals in the future. ![]() |
